In creating this web map, I made deliberate decisions to enhance its visual appeal and utility for Digital Humanities work. I incorporated photos that visually represent the campus buildings, such as using sports related images for the stadium and featuring various activities like sports, academics, and student life through icons for the dorms, science hall, math center, and library. This not only makes the map engaging but also helps users quickly identify and relate to different campus facilities. Web mapping holds tremendous potential for Digital Humanities work, as it allows us to combine data with rich visual elements, enabling a more immersive exploration of valuable contexts (such as historical, cultural, or scholarly). ArcGIS Online, in particular has valuable and robust tools and flexibility, which serves as a crucial platform for creating interactive web map projects. This enables dynamic visualization and narrative storytelling through interactive web maps for Digital Humanities projects.

I love the icons you used to represent the different locations, It makes the map look more interesting and it gives context to what those locations represent. You make a good point, adding rich visual elements in web mapping can make humanities projects more engaging.
Very cool! Have you thought about adding another layer to incorporate more data, like topography? I also wonder what you might think some of the limitations ArcGIS might have when considering large scale digital humanities projects.
