For my project, I took a look at the geographical and gender distribution of the Tate Museum’s Artists.

I really like the base map you chose on ArcGIS! When exploring your map I found it really cool when I zoomed all the way out and was able to see the gender distribution throughout the different geographical locations. It was also interesting to see the different clusters of artists that were surrounded by certain geographical locations. I also liked how each point I clicked on showed the metadata of the artists if I was curious about that.
Great job! Your map is really well constructed! I appreciate you acknowledging the ommited data points, I’m curious to know if they would change, amplify or lower, the results of gender disparities in artists. The access to metadata is also a key part of this whole map which made it very infomatable and engaging!
I also looked at this data (well the artwork one not the artist one) but I looked at a very different part of the data. Even though we I spent a lot of time looking at the same information I did not notice the disparity between male and female artists or how the artists were from all over the world. Looking back at my graphic of the artists with the most work in the galleries I can now see that a vast majority of them are men.
