Initially, I thought creating the map was going to be a tough process, however, it turned out to be straightforward process that was quite engaging. I did have the hardest time attempting to change the symbology of the map (I’m still unsure if I did correctly). Web mapping could be very important and useful to the DGAH community. Of course, it not only makes the dissemination of information much easier, but it helps with the synthesis of information as well, as in, making it easier to record old maps or create new ones. The same goes for the ArcGIS system, but in particular, this system is definitely a lot to take in at first, yet once you use it a few times, it becomes quite easy to use.

Great map! I like the choice to use a realistic satellite view of Earth, as it adds information that can’t be gleaned by looking at your data or hotspots (such as color or relative height of the buildings). I like that you customized the symbology of each point to match the name of the building it corresponds to, though it isn’t clear how often per week you visit these places.
I really liked the base map you used that made the campus look realistic! I definitely agree that web mapping is very beneficial to the DGAH community and that at first, it can be a lot to take in but with more time it makes creating a map tangible. I also like that you put the first letter of the building’s name for each of the symbols. I thought that was a nice touch!
