I made a graph of X-men Characters holding hands to analyze the relationships between X-men characters.

  1. Wow, this is really cool! I like how easy it is to see the interactions between the characters and which characters have more interactions with others. I’m only familiar with some of the X-men, so it is cool seeing all of them mapped out like this. I also appreciate the theme you chose for your site.

  2. This turned out great! The visualization works really well for conveying the relationships between characters, though the sideways text can be a little difficult to read. Maybe attach an image of each character to their data point? That could make it more clear. Also, love the background.

  3. This is cool, I’ve never seen this kind of graph before. It’s awesome to read about how you had to deliberate on what part of the data set was the most interesting or pertinent to your specific project. It’s just like we talked about in class, you made the data tell a story. One think that could be nice is to see a number value associated with the graphed arches, just so we know a ballpark of how many times they held hands and how extensive the data was.

  4. What an interesting and creative approach! Using an arc diagram is definitely an effective choice to visualize these connections. It is quite clear that you put thought into the selection of the graph type. Further, the design choice also shows attention to detail in the presentation. Your project is a great example of using visualization techniques to reveal insights in the data.

  5. You chose a very interesting and specific thing to display and it made your graph come out very well. I like how you are not trying to show too much information in your graph. One thing I was curious about is what the different sized points attached to each X-man mean.

  6. WOW! Unique choice of design that ends up kind of getting the users attention in a quite fascinating way. But overall, I loved the idea of consistency with previous digital website creation.

  7. Marcus, wow! What an interesting topic you chose for your midterm project. Who would have guessed that you could  make a graph based on X-Men characters holding hands to to analyze the relationships between X-Men characters. The background of the graph also caught my attention, and I was curious to see what the connection was between the burgers and the graph.

  8. This data set had a lot of information, which drove me away from choosing it, but I like how you’ve presented it (especially the hamburgers)! It would make sense to choose one area of data, and I like the handholding choice because it’s very niche but says a lot. However, while I understand the arcs link characters who have held hands, I’m confused about the size of the circles; is it meant to indicate the number of appearances of that character?
