I really like your visualization, specifically, the inclusion of little wolf and moose symbols to represent the coordinates of the sightings. I also appreciate how you analyzed the significance of the different kinds of sightings: “some of the pictures do not include the animal, but rather scat or tracks. I believe this is an important location marker, and I kept them in my data set. However, I can see an argument on why I should have excluded them. ” I think that rather than excluding different types of sightings, if you had a lot more time you could have used the type of sighting as the symbols of the map. Overall, I really liked the visualization and the fact that the metadata included an image of the sighting.
I think maybe the most interesting part of the wolf moose charting is that there’s probably a lot of information missing when it comes to Northern Canada as it’s somewhere where people don’t live or go but wolves/mooses probably do. Overall, I think you did an excellent job of understanding and visualizing the information. I am a little surprised that there are wolves that are extremely North. How did people even find them?
