For this week’s lab, I decided to make a chair model based on my interpretation of what an ideal chair should be designed (A rough sketch). I first created a large rectangular design for the base of the chair on which the person would sit, secondly with just the base rectangle I used the fillet option to smooth the sides out to make it look more appealing as a cushion-like surface then pulled the top part of the rectangle that is within the smooth outlining using the extrude option and as a result would leave an empty box where you can put things in. With just the box I needed to get rid of the side where the person could sit on the chair so I just deleted one of the sides lastly I used the fillet to smooth out the remaining sides to make the back.
This project took quite a bit of time to plan and to build although it is not the best-looking model I want to learn and develop my skills in 3D modeling during this term.
Nice model for the chair! I can only imagine what type of work can be done with this design alone!
Wow! I really like your model of the chair. I like how you based on your idea of what you thought the ideal chair looks like not what a regular chair looks like. The planning and building stage definitely takes the most time but the result (product) is worth it!
Thank you for introducing the fillet tool, Its so convenient and I will definitely be using it on future 3D models because its smooth presentation. I can tell you put a lot of effort into perfecting your chair, great job!
