For my midterm project, I used a subset (non-fictional, terrestrial cities) of the dataset of settings in the many issues of the Claremont run and mapped the locations and frequency of each city.

Great job on the ArcGIS map and the site they both look great and have that comic book feel. I find it interesting though not surprising that the frequency of New York towers over every other city. My biggest wonder of the data is not the places that have high data frequency but places that have low frequency. Like I immediately wonder about the issue in which the Xmen went to the North Pole I am not surprised by the American domination but am a bit by all of Asia only having a single issue in the Claremont run.
I really enjoyed looking at your map and page for the midterm project. The simplicity of the base map and the thoughtful data cleaning made the ArcGIS really easy to understand. I enjoyed the use of ArcGIS for this project because it shows how ArcGIS can be used to visualize data from any subject. The time and thought you also put into your page is evident, I enjoyed the background and found the navigation bar really helpful.
I really like your project! My immediate reaction is to your design choices, which I think were very strong for telling the story that your data presents. Both your webpage background and your ArcGIS basemap have an awesome comic book aesthetic while remaining perfectly legible. Your interactive embedding went smoothly, and I like that you put in front and center on the website.
First, the design of the website was very notable. It instantly brings attention to the focus of the project. I also liked your description of the process using ArcGIS, though that must have been a significant delay with the size of the dataset. Though it wasn’t as surprising, most of the comics on the dataset are concentrated in America. Great work!
I loved the website design, especially the comic book background and title (very where in the world is Carmen Sandiego). I think your data cleaning choices make sense, and making them was probably a little silly because the data is so weird, with its referrals to dreams and space. One thing about your site is that it seems to replace apostrophes with “’”; this might be because you edited the site using code?
