In class, I realized I really needed a refresher on HTML, CSS and Java despite having used them all a little before (though a LONG time ago). I took the Beginners HTML and Beginners CSS course. While I don’t have everything memorized and also it’s a lot to get used to after working with Python for 99% of my coding experience, I feel like I’ve gotten the hang of it. Im not sure how to integrate it into wordpress though

So the two articles have very extremist titles and neither’s contents actually coorespond to the extremeness of their initial claims. I personally really dislike these kinds of articles and extremist opinions in general. Kirschenbaum argues that everyone, Humanities students especially, should probably learn how to code. Coding is a really useful skill in the modern day and should definitely be learnt. Donahue argues that while useful, coding shouldn’t be a barrier to entry for Humanities and it should be able to be practiced and studied without having to learn coding. I agree with that statement but the extremeness of “you shouldn’t learn to code in order to study humanities” is far too much. I’m far more middle of the road in my approach.
