The quote from Debbie Chachra’s article grabbed my attention for several reasons. First and foremost, it resonated with the ongoing discussions and efforts to promote diversity and inclusion in fields within the STEM sector particularly in areas like computer science, mathematics and technology. In recent years, there has been a growing awareness of the need to include individuals of all genders in these fields, and this passage reminded me of the challenges and biases that historically excluded women and others from contributing and acting upon the creation of their ideas within the respective fields.
My current interests in computer science have shown to have exposed me to some of the most inclusive spaces on campus. This progress has been encouraging, especially as I intend to work within the niche of software engineering in the future. Looking ahead, my future plans involve working towards creating a safe and inclusive environment for software developers, regardless of their gender or background. This passage reinforces the importance of this mission and reminds me of the work that remains to be done. Under the large umbrella of Digital (Arts &) Humanities, I am eager to explore areas related to 3D modeling. While my background may not be in this field, I believe it offers exciting opportunities for interdisciplinary research, critical thinking and creative expression. I’m curious to see how 3D modeling could potentially bridge with computer science and software development, enabling visualizations of complex code and assisting with my skill development that ties in with computer science.
In conclusion, Chachra’s quote has deepened my commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in technology. My curiosity about the convergence of 3D modeling, computer science, and software development is what makes me excited about focusing on the 3D aspect. As I look to the future, I am determined to contribute to creating safe, inclusive spaces for innovation and exploration, where individuals from all backgrounds can collaborate, create, and thrive.

Your analysis was very moving. It is great to know that there are men like you and me who want a more inclusive environment for all female/trans people in STEM. However, there is still more work we need to do, but continuing to create a safe space for them to explore their interests will help out our future.
Amazing, Ntense Your blog post is really outstanding. I totally understand the value of building an inclusive and welcoming environment within the field of innovation as an African American person pursuing a major in computer science. We must move past preconceived ideas and categorizations since they should never be used as limitations. Instead, our common objective should be to come together and work as an united force, especially in fields like STEM.
